In our city the Grand Hotel Europe is proud to be numbered among the cultural landmarks, it is far more than simply a superlative hostelry – it is, like only a few hotels around the world, an integral part of the history and the culture of its city and its nation.. The building itself dates from 1824, with a preserved Baroque facade designed by the Italian architect Carlo Rossi as well as original art nouveau interiors.
Its roots date back to the 1820s, and for more than 150 years the Grand Hotel Europe has stood at the very center of the city’s social, cultural, and commercial life. Completely renovated between 1989 and 1991, the hotel is today more vital, more magnificent, and more enchanting than ever before.
In 1995 the Grand Hotel Europe became a member of Kempinski Hotels & Resorts and in 1994 it was accepted into “The Leading Hotels of the World” — it was the first Russian hotel to receive this prestigious award. The hotel is a member of the “Swiss International Hotels” group and has been chosen as one of “The most famous Hotels in the world”, along with a special book which has been written about the legendary history of this home.
The Grand Hotel Europe has 301 rooms, including 89 Standard Classic rooms, 123 Superior Classic rooms, 19 Belle Chambers (Junior Suite), 17 Terrace rooms (Junior Suite), 22 Penthouse suites (Junior Suite), 24 Classic suites and 5 Executive suites, as well as the Lidval Suite and the Rossi Suite.
The accommodations reflect five-star luxury. Individually appointed with fine antiques and period reproductions, guests’ rooms are also furnished with modern amenities such as international direct-dial telephones with modem connections, satellite TV and radio, minibar, safe, etc.
